Cap'n Jack, bred by Agi Hejja, is the son of my Faran and LCA-CH Berljon Gemma CGC. So far he seems to have Faran's happy outlook on life, and swaggers around with the ball in his mouth just like his daddy does. He is a large boy, tall with good bone and strong, elegant movement. His majestic appearance and excellent topline are already catching the eye of judges in the ring. His happy energetic personality lends itself well to training, and I hope to add some working titles to his name as he matures. We're already working on obedience, rally, and carting. His first trip into the show ring was at 4 months old, at the LCA 2007 National Specialty in Asheville, NC, where he showed very well and took second in the the 3 to 6 month baby puppy class after a well-fought battle for first against an older puppy. His second show experience netted him a Best Puppy In Show at the UKC all-breed shows in Chesterfield, VA, at 5 months old. Jack's LCA conformation career has been exciting so far. At 13 months old, with 7 single points already, he took two Mid-Atlantic regional specialty Best of Breed wins, for two 5-point majors. At 16 months, at the LCA 2008 National Specialty in Estes Park, Colorado, he grabbed yet another 5-point major by taking Winners Dog under international Leonberger Judge Daniela Pavlovska. He finished his LCA-CH at just 18 months old, fulfilling the LCA's final requirement of a major after the age of 18 months by pulling in a Best of Winners for another 5-point major at the Southeast club's regional specialty weekend in NC. Jack is doing very well in the UKC, consistently placing in group. At 16 months, Jack took his second UKC Reserve Best In Show. And at 17 months, he finished his UKC Grand Champion title.
